James J. Mordica

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for LT Col. Ret. James J. Mordica, 82, of Hattiesburg.

He died Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Military Honors.

Mr. Mordica was a retired LT Col. in the MS National Guard and a retired supervisor at Hercules.

He was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, member and past Exaulted Ruler of B.P.O. Elks Lodge #599, a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the American Legion, and past Commander of Lacy Kelly Post #3036 V.F.W.

Mr. Mordica is survived by his wife, Rosa Lee Mordica of Hattiesburg; a son James M. Mordica (Sandra) of Hattiesburg; a daughter, Sarita Mordica Wallace of Jackson; three sisters, Mary Yates of Hattiesburg, Mary Ann Csaszar of Hattiesburg and Frances Mordica of Jackson; two brothers, George Mordica and Robert Mordica both of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Landon Wallace, Joseph Mordica, and Hannah Mordica and a great-grandchild, Brayden Wallace.
